Held annually in November, Senior Citizens’ Law Day is a free day of seminars on topics of concern to senior citizens, their families, and their care givers, presented by experienced attorneys, Albany Law School faculty, and other professionals, in a sales-free environment.
Seminar topics include planning long-term care, choosing an elder law attorney, creating health care proxies and living wills, and more.
Attendees are able to meet briefly – one-on-one – with certain attorneys who volunteer to answer individual, situation-specific questions that cannot be addressed during the presentations.
Free bone density and blood pressure screenings, medication reviews, "vial of life" profiles, and immunization awareness training are also be offered.
Everyone who attends receives a free handbook on the topics presented at the program, updated each year. Attendees are invited to stay for the entire day or simply attend a specific workshop.
